I have tried to get into anime, but it stops after "Barefoot Gen." At least in that one I can follow what's happening.

Even the most gorgeous eye candy still needs some sort of story that makes sense.

If only the rest of "Akira" could have been like those first twenty minutes...

What you all say is correct, for about 95% of the poker population. They will never be able to show a consistent profit. They will never be able to make enough with their good hands to offset the bad beats and incorrect plays.

Players like myself, however, ARE profitable. I started a full tilt account and NEVER made a deposit. I won $5 in a freeroll, and I worked that $5 up into $1300+. Not only that, I cashed out my FTP points for a 500pc chip set, a pen, a chip protector, a shirt, and about five other things. This is all with an account that I NEVER deposited on.

How is this possible? By playing good poker. Good poker doesn't just mean you wait for AA, KK, AK and bet like a maniac to the river. It is one of the most complicated games in the world. In the process of playing, I am thinking about pot odds, implied odds, reverse implied odds, adjusting for stack sizes, reading opponents, manipulating the size of the pot, bet sizing, expected value, m-ratio inflection point tournament strategy, table image, position, blind structure, payout structure, and a million other things that never enter the mind of an average player. Don't think you can just read one or two books, and play tight, and make a consistent profit. That is what EVERYONE is trying to do. You have to OUTPLAY you opponents to win, and that means always being one step ahead of their game.

Bad beats happen, and they suck. Here is one of my worst bad beats:

My hand, 78
opponent, AJ
Flop, 787

Yes, I lost this hand, when my opponent hit running A, A. It happens to the best of us. But the best of us still profit in the long run.

some losses ive had.

i had k-6 call bblind.

flop k-k-q

go all in

opponent has qq and i loose.

Another hand i had JJ guy nr 2 has QQ and guy nr 3 has KK
flop with no aces or anything so kk wins.

one thing that disturbs me the most is that AA appears all too often and you cant play properly because if you have a decent hand you will loose to a fucker waiting for AA

u r all dumb. poker is for loswers! 1st off: poker is impossible to win, the house always wins and you never win.

2nd off: it is impossible to have fun playing poker. its way more fun to search for blogs where people say they enjoy poker and call them idiots!

3st off: poker is rigged by god! poker really does suck! why don't you play castlevania instead or watch the stock market? or lottery tickets? these aren't rigged by god and are WAY MORE PROFETABLE!

in conclusion, poker sucks! i'm going to start a blog about how poker sucks. I hope you all post comments there, too. poker sucks! i've never gotten 4 aces....

it is very possible to be a winner at poker, but it is not a sustainable game. If enough people start playing, then the margins get thinner and thinner. most average players are the same now, donkeys are dieing out. The Truth is, Poker really does suck, and if you want to sit still in a chair to make that money, I know much better ways that take half the time and BTW no such thing as poker pros, game takes days to learn

Gotta agree. Poker does indeed suck, at least as a way of earning money. At its core, poker is about playing AA, KK, AK and QQ, and depending on the situation, JJ and TT. 90% of showdowns involve one or more of the mentioned hands, and it all comes down to LUCK on whether you have the AA or KK in a AA v KK duel. BINGO! The "professional" poker stars are no-one special. There is always a % of the poker population running super-hot, and if you happen to play big stakes, then you become a "star".

If you're looking to earn money, get a job. Poker should be played as a sport, not a living. I think playing cheap satellites and tournaments are the way to go...

I had been driving for 5 hrs allready from Carson and I am not to sure excatly were I was when I saw it. Thats one ugly animal..

It strikes me that Cambodia should start to educate subsequent generations about what happened and why, so that it won't happen again. According to this, nothing is said about the period, in Cambodian schools:
